My name is Dean Failor, I am a Principle Broker/Owner with Windermere West Coast Properties on the Central Oregon Coast. This blog is my soap box for spreading the news about the very high quality of life on the Coast. In my real estate practice over the past 20 years here on the Coast I have learned that real estate involves much more than boards and dirt and the distance to shopping.
Our area is rich in so many things including the arts, music, spectacular scenery, great food and exceptional recreational opportunities. One may choose their particular level of physical activity from quiet contemplation to extreme sports and every thing in between. We are a group of small communities ranging in size from Newport with a population of 8,500 — to Eddyville, population 50. The pace of life is slow and uncomplicated. A large part of our population is of retirement age and many of these active retirees bring a wealth of life experience that they put to use in volunteer activities. The Oregon Coast Community College offers wonderful continuing adult education at the newly completed campus in South Beach.
If a “big city fix” is needed the Willamette Valley is as close as 1.5 hours away by car. Corvallis, home to Oregon State University is 1.5 hours, Eugene, home to University of Oregon is 2 hours and Portland, home to everything is 3 hours.
